Connected to who we are. Ready for what comes next.
Our pathways begin with identity, build practical capability,
and stay alongside people beyond the first step.
The strength is already there.
We do not see people as problems to be fixed. We see whakapapa, talent, responsibility and possibility.
Our role is to help make that strength reachable: through learning that feels relevant, support that removes real barriers, and pathways into mahi that can empower. When one person moves forward, the benefits travel with them — into their whānau, their workplace and the generations that follow.
Our pou
Our mahi stands on five pou. Each has its own purpose.
Pathways into mahi.
TREP
Tangatake Rangatahi Employment Programme
A kaupapa Māori pathway for rangatahi who are not currently in employment, education or training. TREP begins with identity and strengths, then moves through coaching, practical support and carefully matched placements.
TWEP
Tangatake Whānau Employment Pathway
A dual-stream pathway delivered with Volunteer Kāpiti, linking real organisational capability gaps with supported opportunities for Māori and Pasifika jobseekers.
M.A.T.A.U keeps us on course
M.A.T.A.U is the values and outcomes framework behind every programme we design. It guides how people should experience our mahi and how we judge whether it is working.
Manaakitanga
People feel seen, respected and cared for.
Āhurutanga
People have the cultural and emotional safety to be honest, learn and grow.
Tuakiritanga
Identity and self-expression are recognised as sources of strength.
Awhina
Practical support turns possibility into movement.
Utu
Relationships are reciprocal, achievement is honoured, and success strengthens the whole.
Built together
Communities already hold trusted relationships, deep capability and knowledge. Tangatake is here to connect and strengthen what exists — not to duplicate it.
We are building with whānau, employers, schools, community organisations, specialist providers and funders who believe better outcomes come from working alongside one another.
